Sharlene Sones understands the power of a story to sell your product, advance an idea, communicate your value and build your brand.  As founder and chief storyteller of Brandstoria, she connects traditional branding practices with new approaches to delight customers and meet the needs of entrepreneurs, marketers and change-makers.

Sharlene started her career developing and launching hundreds of products in sports and entertainment. The experience revealed her natural inclination to weave a unified thread throughout products and ignited an appreciation for storytelling. She believes that we are all the authors of our own unique story – we can edit, re-write and take it on a new course. Her passion is helping other people and organizations realize this, too. Sharlene has helped strengthen many well-known global brands including Benetton Sportsystem, Spalding, Forefront Records, University ofPennsylvania and the LPGA.

 A native Bostonian, Sharlene lives inPennsylvania’s beautifulLehighValley, or, what she refers to as the “deep, deep, deep suburbs of NYC.”   She earned her graduate degree in Organizational Dynamics at theUniversityofPennsylvaniaand holds a B.S. in Management fromBabsonCollege, where she serves on the board of the Babson Alumni Association.

 Katie P. Desiderio, Assistant Professor of Management, holds an MBA from Wilkes University and a Doctorate in the field of leadership with a specialization in human resource development (HRD) from Barry University. Her current research is in the area of flow and finding happiness to optimize performance at work. She is also involved in research with fellow HRD scholars in the areas of physiognomy, social and transitional justice issues in HRD, perceived leader behavior and organizational citizenship behavior. She is the advisor to several clubs on campus including the Economics & Business Club, Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority, and co-advisor to the student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). After working for several years in corporate marketing, Dr. Desiderio is excited to be able to share her knowledge and experience with students in a career where she has found the essence of embracing flow at work.

Afternoon Presentation:  2:00 pm - 5:00 pm   -  Dr. Soheila R. Lunney – President, Lunney Advisory Group LLC.    Topic:   “The Procurement Game Plan:  Winning Strategies & Techniques For Supply Management Professionals.” 

Biography:

Dr. Soheila R. Lunney, is the President of Lunney Advisory Group LLC, and co-author of the book “The Procurement Game Plan:  Winning Strategies & Techniques For Supply Management Professionals.”  She is an advisory board member for several organizations and also served on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) from 2005 – 2011. 

Prior to founding her company, Soheila was vice president of procurement for Education Management Corporation (EDMC). She was also Director/Deputy to Chief Procurement Officer at Bayer Corporation where she held various positions with increasing responsibilities in research and development, logistics, customer service, materials management, and procurement. 

Dr. Lunney obtained her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from National University of Iran, and MS and PhD from University ofEast Anglia inNorwich,Great Britain.  After a postdoctoral assignment atClemsonUniversity, she joined the faculty as a lecturer. In 1983, she joined theUniversity ofArkansas as an associate professor, prior to joining Bayer in 1986.

Dr. Lunney is a frequent speaker on supply chain management at professional organizations and conferences, sole holder of a U.S. Patent relevant to Polyurethane Technology, and author of several publications.  She can be reached at soheila@lunneyadvisorygroup.com.
