This affiliate webcast will focus the value and importance of forecasting in successful purchasing and supply decision-making. While forecasting is seen as mostly of value to manufacturing, supply professionals in non-manufacturing organizations will discover why they should also care deeply about forecasting issues. Viewers of this program will be introduced to selected forecasting methods and tools and develop an awareness of forecasting challenges and pitfalls.

Our presenter  Lora Cecere is a Partner with Founder of Supply Chain Insights and the author of enterprise software blog “Supply Chain Shaman.” The blog focuses on the use of enterprise applications to drive supply chain excellence. Her book, Bricks Matter, will be published in August 2012.

As an enterprise strategist, Lora focuses on the changing face of enterprise technologies. Her research is designed for the early adopter seeking first mover advantage. Current research topics include the digital consumer, supply chain sensing, demand shaping and revenue management, market-driven value networks, accelerating innovation through open design networks, the evolution of predictive analytics, emerging business intelligence solutions, and technologies to improve safe and secure product delivery.

Affiliate Webcasts are one-hour, live streaming broadcasts, transmitted via Web-based technology. ISM affiliates may choose to show the Webcasts in a group setting, and individuals will also have the ability to view these programs on their own computers. All attendees who wish to view with a group are required to register individually, and also provide the email address for their Group Leader, under whose registration they will use to view the event. This information is used to confirm your group attendance and is critical if group members expect their attendance to be recorded. The Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.) program is for entry-level buyers primarily engaged in the tactical or operational side of purchasing/materials management. It is also available to those outside of an organization’s purchasing/materials management department with definite procurement (supply chain management) responsibilities. The Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) program focuses on the managerial, administrative, and strategic, as well as tactical aspects of the purchasing and materials management function. Both programs are designed for those working in any of the major private, public, or non-profit work sectors. Both programs are administered by ISM and members receive discounts on exams and study materials.
  8. Committees
